Father and son were arrested by City Police for stealing a truck in the Belgrano neighborhood while walking a dog. The Mercedes Benz 710 cargo truck was stolen during the early morning of May 10th last year on Húsares street at 2400. Two men got out of a Ford Raptor: one pretended to walk a Shar Pei dog while forcing the lock to start the vehicle.
The investigation was taken over by the City Police's Auto Theft Division, which identified the truck through security camera reviews and the Digital Ring. After analyzing antennas and conducting field work, three searches were carried out, one in Villa Lugano and two in Villa Soldati, authorized by the National Criminal and Correctional Court 22.
In the tow truck and dumpster services depot in Villa Soldati, six similar trucks were found but not the stolen one. At a residence in Villa Lugano, the Ford Raptor used in the theft was seized, along with items related to such crimes, such as vehicle identification cards, a driver's license, and a case for a Bersa 9mm caliber pistol.
To find the stolen truck, investigators traced social media and discovered a Marketplace post offering transportation with the same characteristics, but with a platform for vehicles instead of a cargo truck. They arranged a simulated meeting at Lucio Correa Morales at 3000, in Villa Soldati, where the son of the man arrested in Caballito arrived with the truck. After inspecting and detecting an alleged alteration in the engine number, he was arrested.
